Our Sexual Assault Center has been using TACT since 2006, and loving every minute of all its benefits. What a great means of collecting data and being able to say to your director “ wait I will get that number for you in just a few seconds” It made her happy and me in that it was taking less time to get the critical information needed. Whether it is information needed for grant applications, reports or just curiosity I could get the numbers I needed in a quick turnaround time.
I always knew TACT was an awesome database and appreciated every minute we have used it, but just the other day I was reminded how critical this program is. I had to collect statistical information from 2000 for a new grant. Of course TACT was not helpful in that our data was only in the system since 2006. I went into our old data base system and was reminded of all the time it took to get statistics or information prior to TACT. What now takes me minutes (with TACT) took me over four hours to collect simple statistical information.

"I became aware of the TACT program when I started working for a small nonprofit Rape Crisis Center. When I began with the agency, I would literally count the number of contacts made each month and keep running tally sheets with the demographic information. When it came time to report to funders each quarter, it was like tax season. Hours of late nights and pots of coffee the week before a report was due. When finished, I hoped it was a close representation of what we did.
TACT has literally changed my life, but more importantly my agency. The time I used to spend collecting data and documenting is now spent with clients and program development. Our agency can generate reports and statistics with the push of a button. Part of my responsibilities is to seek out funding and prepare grants. TACT has given me the legitimate statistics I need to support funding dollars being requested.
When I took over implementation of the TACT system, it was a little scary. I didn’t know for sure what I was doing or if I would mess something up. The beauty of this database is that it is so user friendly. I learned the system quickly and any time I've had a question or concern, there has been someone a phone call away. It was exciting the first time a report was run and it captured exactly what we needed.
We use TACT everyday. I come into work, crank up my PC, check my mail and log on to TACT. Anytime I get a call, I enter the data into the database. It has become part of my daily routine. I have worked as a social worker for several years and have used at least 4 other data bases. None of them were as user friendly and able to be customized to meet the unique needs of my agency.
Previous staff frustration has diminished as a direct result of having this database. I believe TACT is one of the main contributors to our success and sustainability as a small nonprofit agency. The software has been a priceless investment.
The customer service from Infosys is absolutely the best I have ever received professionally and personally. My questions and concerns are handled with respect, kindness, and most importantly, humor. It can be frustrating to learn a new system, but we were able to work through all of our issues in a friendly, caring way. I wish I could get that kind of tech support at home. "I’m working on a sex offender management project. We have a wealth of information in paper documents – over 6,000 risk assessment records of male and female offenders and sexually violent predators. The information has been sitting in file cabinets just waiting for us to develop an electronically searchable database. We’ve worked hard for at least 3 years identifying the data fields that should be populated so that we can turn this set of records into something useful for future researchers.
TACT is an integral part of that endeavor. As an ACCESS based system, we can instantly enter reports into SPSS for data analysis. We can also compile text records for entry into any qualitative data analysis program – the one I’m using is Atlas/ti and I’m really looking forward to the day I can generate a report and analyze qualitative data seamlessly.
